Vintage Perforated Metal Lamp in the style of Guariche or Mategot c.1950

Reading light with bakelite switch and perforated metal shade in the style of Mathieu Mategot. Chrome clamp, swivel base. Cloth covered cord.

This lovely light is perfect as a reading light or task light. The whole lamp has been completely restored and has been newly wired to Australian Standards, tested and tagged.

The perforated metal shade has been stripped and repainted in the original Antique White. The shade can swivel 360 degrees and up and down on the ball joint. It won't lose it's position. If you ever find it is loosening, the ball joint mechanism is so simple that it can be tightened with a screwdriver.

The original bakelite switch has been carefully cleaned and polished and is in immaculate condition.

The chrome swivel base and clamp have been polished. The chrome has signs of oxidisation but is in excellent overall condition. There are no rubber grips on the chrome clamp, so while the clamp is firm and strong it's best to clamp it to a horizontal surface such as a shelf.

The lamp is pictured here with two different types of bulb - a low energy frosted globe and a traditional incandescent standard bayonet cap candle globe. It takes bayonet cap (B22) globes, not small bayonet cap (SBC).
