Vistosi Disc Chandelier Medium, Italy c.1975

A medium, four tier Gino Vistosi smoke glass disc and chrome framed chandelier from the 1970s. In excellent clean and sound condition. Original wiring, tested and tagged (certified) to Australian Standards. Ready to hang and use.

This item is the smaller of the two shown in these images, which is hanging lower. It's not a small light at 47 cm diameter and 40 cm high. It appears smaller in comparison to the large light which is 60 cm diameter and 50 cm high.

This light came from a magnificently designed and built home in Templestowe (outer North Eastern suburb of Melbourne). The house was completed and decorated in 1979/1980 and all lights were purchased at Armadale Lighting which was a high-end supplier of imported Italian and other European lighting at that time. This light was hanging low over a teak and leather-upholstered bar. It's big sister was hanging in the centre of the livingroom and her twin over the dining table in the adjoining room.

The house was complete with huge fishtanks, a massive Cardin chrome and brass dining table, open fireplaces, split level and open plan living areas and a pair of double, solid timber entrance doors. A total gem. Fortunately for you and I, the first new owner since the house was built decided on a complete modernisation and was selling all the lights. More to follow.

The frame carries 21 smoke glass discs and 7 light bulbs. The chain drop is 1.7 metres and easily adjustable.
