Very pretty Teal coloured glass balloon stems with spiral pattern, finished with a clear glass candle holder and wide lip to catch wax. A wide clear glass foot or pediment makes them stable for their height.

I love the colour and size of these two. They’re large but not overly so, and the colour is bold but not strident. They’re less an elegant fine dining candlestick, more a fun statement of abundance. Perfect for a festive Spring/Summer table setting.

Approximately 32 centimetres tall, of mismatched height because each has been individually mouth blown.

I’m tempted to say they come from Italy, but I think Spain is more probable. In Spain, decorative glass has a long tradition but takes a more practical form, often with less refined craft but more joy and practicality.

I’d describe this as medium quality glass, with great decorative effect - there are folds, bubbles and minor manufacturing faults.
