Calypso Chair by Bernard Goss for Pandar, Melbourne 1956

Calypso Chair by Bernard Goss for Pandar, Melbourne 1956

A$0.00

This beautifully built steel rod chair is a rare design by Bernard Goss for Pandar Furniture. Advertised as the 'Calypso' chair, it suggests warm breezes and relaxation.

It was originally available in an upholstered version. We decided to preserve the frame and create a string version to emphasise the relaxed shape and 50s styling. The original Kauri timber armrests have been stripped and recoated but their character preserved. We've used a high quality cotton sash cord for the weave.

The chair converts easily from summer breezes to winter comfort with the addition of a sheepskin. Supremely comfortable and supremely stylish. We suggest the chair for indoor use only to preserve the condition of the materials.

If you prefer the chair fully upholstered, please ask for a quote and be sure to see the original advertising amongst the images for an idea of original appearance.
