Cesare Lacca Blonde Beech Bar Cart Italy 1950s
Cesare Lacca Blonde Beech Bar Cart Italy 1950s
Roll on 6 o'clock! This lovely bar cart will make your cocktail time a delight. Beautifully designed, elegant, sturdy. The top tier of the cart has a removable serving tray with Asiatic style upturned ends - a lovely item in it's own right. The base will roll your evening drinks smoothly into any room.
It's so beautifully designed, it can be easily taken apart by loosening the brass nuts on the crossbars. It can be packed down flat for transport to your new place or anywhere around the globe. It goes back together with ease and will be as elegant and functional as it was designed to be 80 years ago.
This cart has a wonderful provenance. It belonged to the arts patrons and construction founders, the Belgiorno-Nettis family, whose matriarch's three beautiful modernist homes in Sydney Australia were sold in 2016. Each of these apartments and houses were filled with wonderful Italian midcentury furniture and lighting. Cabinet de Luxe obtained a few smaller pieces, including this cart and some pendant lighting (to be listed shortly).
The cart frame has been stripped and recoated with a waterproof and alcohol-proof hard wax oil - no moisture can't penetrate the surface. Spills can be wiped up with a damp cloth.
The glass has a few scratches and the frame has a few bumps and dings from everyday use. One lower brass crossbar has a dent in it that our restorer has straightened out as far as possible but which is still just visible. See images.
