Rare Bitossi 'Seta' or 'Silk' jug designed by Aldo Londi in 1957, in production until 1965.

Purple, lilac and white bands with gilt linear diamond glaze over incised (sgraffito) vertical lines. Gloss glaze in purple/lilac to interior. Base marked in black glazed text, 'AH12/23 Italy'.

CONDITION

In fine condition. No chips, scratches, crazing, cracking or other damage from use. One small nick on the gilt lip, see images, is a result of manufacture where incised line meets lip of jug. This is not acquired damage but a part of the hand-decorated manufacturing process. Small hole underside of handle also a product of manufacturing.
