Classic Three-Tier Chandelier by Doria, Germany, 1950s

Classic Three-Tier Chandelier by Doria, Germany, 1950s

A$0.00

This elegant chandelier by Doria of Germany was made in the 1950s. It’s a Classic piece of midcentury design. The chandelier consists of a brass ceiling cap and rod, a brass chain, a painted aluminum alloy frame and three rings of textured glass tubes.

The tubes are hung on the frame directly via hooks on the frame and holes in the glass. The glass tubes are spaced evenly by three brass rings which ensure the glasses don't dangle loosely. The brass rings add definition and contrast beautifully with the glass.

There is one and a half metres of chain currently attached. Our images show the light hanging at the full drop of two metres and at the height correct for our hallway, with the chain looped above. This chain is very easy to unlink and relink and will give the user options for height adjustment as required.

DIMENSIONS

Height 24 cm

Diameter 42 cm

Drop Adjustable, max 2.2 metres

CONDITION

Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. There is a small hairline crack in one glass - completely stable, hard to spot. The frame is oxidised and has lost a bit of it's original painted coating. Brass rings are oxidised but attractively so. See images.
